Changes to fd Network Internet Services

This bulletin details a Historical Event, and is kept for archival purposes only

The fd Network has brought online new high-speed internet links which will improve delivery of both our Managed and Self-managed services.

With our new Fibre Internet Links, we're now able to deliver files at 80mbps with an upgrade coming in the new year which will deliver speeds of 400mbps. This will mean for most customers, a significant performance improvement of fd Network delivered services both for eMail, Web Hosting and Shared Services (such as OwnCloud and PBX) and our hardware virtualisation service which we have been delivering in a trial basis will now move into our Service Catalogue.

This does come with some changes for those who have incorporated parts of our network into your own environment, specifically for those who have been referencing the fd Network Load Balancer at 59.167.236.128 will now have to update this across to 203.217.22.37. Most services have already automatically picked up this change, however there may be some services which have not been detected.

As the new service went online on the 20th November, you may have already noticed the improvement of the service over the past month as our services moved across to the fibre linkages.

With that wrapped up, we would finally like to wish all of our customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
